Many furnishing and construction companies let employees sleep in hotels so as not to lose working time due to long journeys.

More and more employees of construction companies are staying in the Belgian Hotels.  A new phenomenon in response to the ever-increasing traffic.  Letting the workers go to a hotel is cheaper than being stuck in traffic jams.

It appears that in recent years the number of overnight stays by workers has tripled. What we mainly see now is that workers check in on Sunday evening and then work four very long days to finish projects quickly. In the past, assignments were done in 2 weeks, each time with commuting and therefore also traffic jams, now they do it without and therefore much faster.

Several hotels are responding to this and offer services such as flexible check-in and check-out times, adapted parking facilities for commercial vehicles and take-away lunch meals for the construction site.

These accommodation expenses can be invoiced by the hotel stating the project reference.
